The Gauntlet of Doom was the dungeon that the party was sent to on behalf of the [[Dragon Queen]] to obtain a powerful magical artifact; they found it was inhabited by rat men that they were never able to encounter, they continually left silly traps behind and fled.
After a PTSD triggering encounter with some fake mannequins of rust monsters, a game of minesweeper, some death stairs and a riddle about Pa's Sword; the party arrived in a room with an ornate mirror in the center.
Gazing into the mirror revealed an altered image of the room they were in that was full of treasure; they had to solve a puzzle involving looking at the four skeletal statues around the room, realizing they had no eyes, and that they had to read the inscription above the mirror without including the letter "I".
Having solved the puzzle, the mirror became a portal and the party entered a treasure vault where they found the Dragon Hoard Sword and piles of coins etc; interacting with any of the treasure triggered it to form into a treasure dragon and attack. Defeating the dragon, they were able to retrieve the sword that had magical properties; driving it into treasure and setting a password, it would become a guardian for it, and form whatever valuables were around into a dragon when disturbed.
